International Diamond School. General overview of the most recent advances in diamond research as well as an introduction to modern techniques for diamond exploration. Committed speakers include the worlds leading scientists in the field. The lectures will provide theoretical and practical lectures and tutorial workshops concerning diamonds and their mineral inclusions. January 27-31, Bressanone-Brixen, Italy.

Short Course on the Geology of Gold Deposits. Gold Workshop at the University of Cape Town on February 7-8, 2015. The course will focus on the distribution, geology, important characteristics (geochemistry, geophysics, structure, alteration, mineralogy), genesis, and exploration criteria of the most important gold deposit types. Industry geologists, as well as upper level undergraduate and graduate students in economic geology, will find the course relevant and useful. Deposit examples include material from Africa and throughout the world.

Short Course "Introduction to Secondary In Mass Spectrometry in the Earth Sciences". Potsdam, Germany, 9 - 13 November 2015. This short course is intended for PhD students and young researchers who have little or no experience in the field of SIMS technology. However, participants will be expected to be familiar with the basics of analytical geochemistry; a general familiarity with EPMA analyses is a prerequisite. Hercules 2015 European School. This school provides training for students, postdoctoral and senior scientists from European and non-European universities and laboratories, in the field of Neutron and Synchrotron Radiation for condensed matter studies (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Geosciences, Industrial applications). The 1-month school includes lectures (60%), hands-on practicals and tutorials at partner institutes (ESRF, ILL in Grenoble, Soleil and LLB near Paris, SLS in Switzerland) and Grenoble Laboratories (CEA, CNRS, EMBL, IBS). From March 1st to April 1st, 2015.

17th BCA/CCG Intensive Teaching School in X-Ray Structure Analysis. This school introduces the theory of powder diffraction and the methods available for crystal structure determination and for microstructure analysis from powder diffraction data (indexing, space group determination, structural and microstructural refinement techniques). One unique aspect of this school will be the extensive use of computer programs during hands-on sessions dedicated to educational exercises. 6th April - 14th April 2019, Trevelyan College, Durham, UK.

Intensive Teaching School in X-Ray Structure Analysis. The school is intented primarily for younger scientists with some experience of structure analysis who wish to improve their understanding of the underlying principles and practice. The main focus of the school is on chemical and materials science. 21st - 29th March 2015, Trevelyan College, Durham, UK.

EMU Schools To fill the gap between information provided by university curricula and conferences for specialists EMU decided to set up its Schools, where experts give review lectures starting on the traditional university level but providing the participants at the end with the skill of understanding even the latest trends of the given field.

Short Courses and Workshops sponsored or recognized by the Mineralogical Society of America (MSA), the Geochemical Society (GS), and the European Mineralogical Union (EMU).
